About
The Department of Anatomy, FAAMC, Barpeta, was established in 2011. The first batch of MBBS students was admitted in 2012. The department has all medical educational facilities, including a classroom with AV aids, a seminar room, a histology and research laboratory, a dissection hall, a museum, and a library. It receives many donated and unclaimed dead bodies yearly for anatomical dissection. Our faculties are sincere and dedicated to teaching.
As a pre-clinical department, we focus on teaching anatomy to medical, paramedical, and nursing students while maintaining high educational standards. We uphold the institution’s vision for excellence in teaching, service, and research. We strive to instill in students a sense of wonder about the human body and values of respect for themselves, others, and cadavers.
Anatomy faculties are well-trained in the CBME course and have completed CISP and BCME training under the NMC nodal center. They have published several original research papers and case reports in national and international journals. The HOD of Anatomy has published two books on histology practicals and histological techniques for students.
Ongoing Research Works:
- Study of Fingerprint Patterns in Relation to Different Blood Groups among the Students of FAAMC, Barpeta, using 10 Finger Attributes.
- Study of the Relationship between Fingerprint Patterns and Gender among the Assamese People of Barpeta.
