The Department of Medicine at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital is a cornerstone of the institution, consisting of four units. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients, actively participating in cross-referrals, and emphasizing the vital role of preventative medicine within general medical practice.

Our physicians at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College are committed to delivering the highest quality of care, utilizing the latest medical advancements and technology to meet the unique needs of each patient. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including both outpatient and inpatient care.

Key Objectives:

1. Education and Training:

• Imparts knowledge of internal medicine to undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) students with a yearly intake of 9 students in the latter.
• Offers training in diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions such as cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and infectious diseases.
• Provides hands-on experience through clinical rotations in wards, ICUs, and outpatient departments.

2. Clinical Services:

• Manages inpatient and outpatient care, focusing on holistic patient management.
• Runs specialized units such as Intensive Care Units (ICUs), High Dependency Units (HDUs), and Emergency Medicine.

3. Research:

• Conducts research in internal medicine and allied fields to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care.
• Encourages student and faculty participation in clinical trials and academic projects.

4. Community Outreach:

• Organizes health camps and awareness programs to educate the public about common diseases and preventive measures.
• Collaborates with government and non-governmental organizations for public health initiatives.
