General Surgery
About
The Department of General Surgery is one of the Institute's major departments, with the goal of providing all medical and surgical care related to surgical conditions of patients attending the department via outpatient department and emergency.
It has got outpatient services including minor operation theatre for day care procedures; inpatient services including general wards, private rooms, Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit. A 12 bedded burn unit has been set up with aim of better management for the patients. Regularly all general surgery procedures including laparoscopic techniques are performed in our OT’s
The department has four units dedicated to provide service to patients and comprise of highly experienced faculty members which includes 1 Professor, 3 Associate professors, 4 Assistant professor and 6 Registrars. There is ongoing Post Graduate Course (MS General Surgery) with 27 post graduate trainees working in the department at present.
The department holds regular academic events with the goal of imparting knowledge. The faculty and residents routinely present their research work in all major conferences. The department contributes to the teaching and training of MBBS graduates and interns, BSc nursing and OT technician students at our institute.
